Sometimes when I read Dr. Peale’s books, it seems as if he repeats himself and each book is a repeat of what he said in another of his books. The difference is that he said it in a different way.
However, if you really take the time to read his books and study what he says, the focus of each book is different. The same scriptures might apply to what he is trying to teach, but the point he is trying to drive home is different.
This book is no excpetion, and this book is something of a departure from his other writing. If I could choose one of his books that is the closest to those like The Secret or The Science of Getting Rich, this one would be it.
On the surface the Plus Factor might seem like another word or catch phrase meant to describe positive thinking. It’s not. The Plus Factor is a certain way to not only think but act. It’s that little something extra that will help you become successful if you apply it. It is a characteristic of those who have more enthusiasm, more hope, more of all of the things that can make life a truly breath taking and joyous experience.
What Dr. Peale seeks to do in this book is to teach others how to develop this characteristic within ourselves. (It is something that if we don’t have it, we can develop it.)
The other element of this book is that it is definitely a practical action plan. Honestly, I believe that there is actually a specific formula for success, and it can be boiled down into specific steps. This book does exactly that. He shows you how to get exactly what you want out of life, what will truly make you happy.
Even if you’ve read all of his other books, you’ll definitely want to read this one because you will want to cultivate that little something extra we all need to succeed.
This book is available on Amazon, but most of the copies are used.
