Does Cathy Define America?

I love reading Star Parker. She shares a lot of information in her columns, but she always makes it personal.

This is a great column for Christians to read simply because of the mission statement of this particular company.

“To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chik-fil-A.”

How is that for a mission statement?

It’s something that all of us as Christians should follow. When asked what the most important commandment was, Jesus told us to love God and love others AS we love ourselves.

Sounds like a solid business idea to me, and it’s something I think all of us should definitely follow. Treat your customers and your employees as you want to be treated. If you work for someone, treat them the way you want to be treated.

You may not get the same from others. Remember that doesn’t matter though. When God judges you, He looks at how you treat others, not how you were treated by others. How you treat others, is, after all, a reflection of you and your character.

I think we can all learn a lot about how to run a business from Mr. Cathy, and even if you don’t own a business, I still recommend you read this. It will uplift and inspire you today.

Verse of the Day

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3, ESV)
