And Now the Fight for Freedom Begins

Maybe I should say that the fight for freedom continues. We’ve been fighting for our freedom for a very long time in this country. The last good decade I remember in this country was the 80s. That was before political correctness and Pearl Jam came along.

Probably the best thing about the 90s is that it wasn’t Pearl Jam or Nirvana who sold the most rock n roll records; it was good old Stockbridge Georgia Collective Soul. I guess things are often never what they seem.

Although I am somewhat angry today about the election because I don’t understand why anyone would vote for someone who is against everything that is good about America, I am also not very surprised.

The irony behind Obama’s wealth redistribution plan is that billions, possibly trillions of dollars will be redistributed into the hands of those who don’t want to work, who don’t want to do what it takes to achieve, and who don’t want to do the right thing. These are the true greedy in America.

To claim that all rich people in America are greedy is a stereotype. It’s the same kind of stereotype that blacks in America fought against during the 1960s and before. Stereotypes are an ugly thing because they are an all or nothing proposition. For every stereotype, there is always an exception.

One of the things that T. Harv Ecker said in his book, “Secrets of the Millionaire Mind,” is that money only makes you more of what you already are. So, if you were greedy and hateful before you made all of that money, you will only be more greedy and hateful. By the same token, if you were kind and generous before, you will only be more kind and more generous because you will have more to be more kind and generous with.

This idea that we should punish the rich so that everyone has an opportunity is really a just one more line of BS. Let me explain something to you: When we start making the rich pay more taxes, when we start making corporations pay more taxes, that means they will have less money to spend. That means companies will have less money to grow. That also means that many companies will cut employees. The less educated and the less skilled will have to go. What this means is that Obama’s policies will have exactly the opposite effect.

In the 80s, Ronald Reagan proved decisively that cutting taxes was always the way to go. It caused unprecendented growth in this country, and it didn’t take long for the country to crawl out of the mess that was created as a result of Carter’s policies.

I’m all for change. Politicians need to stop making government service a career. We need a lot more business people in there that understand economics and a lot fewer lawyers like Obama. We need a lot less government. What we are going to get is more government, more regulation, and less money to spend.

Verse of the Day

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience-- among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. (Ephesians 2:1-3, ESV)
