Petraeus: U.S. troops could leave Baghdad soon

Quite frankly, this is some of the best news I’ve seen in quite some time. The irony is that this isn’t being reported by the main stream media.

What a lot of people need to understand, and don’t, is that no one hates war more than a soldier. Although I was never a combat vet, I am a vet, and I’ve had friends, as well as two ex husbands who suffered from PTSD. It really is an awful thing. Those who serve in war and survive often live with tremendous guilt. They suffer.

We need to pray for those in uniform, and we need to pray for this country. This country is in real trouble. The good news is that, if you read the Bible, we already know the end of the story, and for Christians, it is a happy ending.

If you meet a vet today, say thank you. They’re the ones who preserve our freedom, not politicians, lawyers, lobbyists, and groups like that. Many have put their lives on the line, and many haven’t come home. We need to be grateful to those who have served. Our freedom depends on them.

Verse of the Day

But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you. For you bless the righteous, O LORD; you cover him with favor as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12, ESV)
