Thanksgiving Every Day – HUMAN EVENTS

I have to tell you that I love Ted Nugent. As always, he’s right on point about a lot of things. One of the things we don’t talk about in this country is the number of people who DON’T and WON’T do anything to better their situations.

Poverty might be unavoidable for many throughout the world because they live in other countries, but in the United States, I believe that the number one cause of poverty is just plain laziness.

I’m all for stepping up to the plate and helping others any chance I can. However, one of the things that I have learned is that you can’t help someone who won’t help themselves. It just doesn’t work. It’s also been my experience that people like that have an entitlement mentality, as if you owe them something.

I’ve also learned from having my own business over the last seven years that most people will never do anything to take action. As a writer, I know too many other writers who think that if they just write something, some big name publisher will discover them and make them rich and famous. WRONG! It’s never the best product that succeeds; it’s always the one that is the most effectively marketed.

Taking responsibility for your decisions and life choices is the first step to freedom regardless of whether you are poor or not. Deciding what you really want and then taking action to get it is the next step.

Rock on Ted!

Verse of the Day

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:1-4, ESV)
