The Right To Win — Thomas Sowell — GOPUSA

It seems that we are claiming all kinds of rights in our society that no one should have. This one is just the latest.

I for one am tired of the idea that life has to be fair. IT’S NOT FAIR!

As long as there is sin in the world, as long as there are those who stand against God, life will never be fair.

Life is not fair when we take from the rich (income redistribution) to give to the “poor”. If you’re poor in America, you’re not trying very hard to change your life.

The only path to success is hard work and sacrifice. If you are a Christian, you need to be doing what you do for the glory of God. It will change your life and free you of all these socialist and liberal notions.

Life is not fair, and it’s not fair because of sin. It’s not fair because too many people don’t want to take responsibility for their actions.  Too many want what they want, and they want what they want at the expense of others.

Your rights end where another’s begins. It’s time we all took responsibility for actions. Just because you don’t believe in the rules, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

There are consequences for everything. If you’re not willing to accept the consequences, then don’t take the action.

Great column. Makes me want to work hard to do the right thing and leave the results to God.

Verse of the Day

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:1-4, ESV)
